Henderson police officer shot a burglary suspect who was allegedly reaching for a gun during a pursuit on Christmas day.

The Henderson Police Department published the video from the Dec. 25 shooting involving Officer Jordan Hijar in the area of Tiger Lily Way and Viewmont Drive, near Horizon Drive and the Interstate 11 freeway.

Acting Deputy Chief Eric Buck said in the video that two people found in the area matched the description of suspects wanted in some car burglaries that morning. A burglary victim contacted Hijar around 8:20 a.m. and said the two suspects were still in the area, and a handgun was reported as stolen out of the car.

Hijar found the two suspects, who ignored verbal commands, and a brief foot chase developed. Buck says that during the chase, one suspect, identified as 20-year-old Ozzie Seeman, took out a handgun. Hijar opened fire and struck Seeman, who was taken to Sunrise Hospital.
