A killer caught on CCTV buying petrol before going to his ex-wife's hair salon and setting her alight has been convicted of her murder.

Images released after his trial show Ahmad Yazdanparast, 61, at a filling station on the day of the horrific fireball attack on mother-of-three Ahdieh Khayatzadeh, 46.

He is then seen carrying a container into the Venus Hair and Beauty Salon in Stirling, Scotland, before staggering from the blazing premises while on fire himself.

Hairdresser Ahdieh, who suffered 95 per cent burns after he doused her in petrol and set her alight, was still alive when rescuers carried her from the building.

She told a paramedic at the scene her ex-husband attacked her because she had divorced him.

Ahdieh died in hospital hours later.
