Video circulating on social media yesterday showed how witnesses screamed out in horror as fight broke out in the middle of the road in Hull.

The sounds of shattering glass and honking horns echoed as traffic was brought to a halt near the junction with Derringham Street while the men carried out their attack.

One man could be seen laid in the road as others appeared to hit him with sticks. Women, some clearly distressed, could then be seen trying to intervene and pull people away.

Humberside Police said three people were taken to hospital with serious injuries following the incident. Six men and a woman were also arrested on suspicion of affray and remain in police custody.
