Alleged Punishment of Suspected Thieves Recorded in Puerto Ordaz

Video footage circulating on social media shows two men being shot in the hands in what appears to be an act of vigilante justice in Puerto Ordaz, Bolívar state.

The Investigative and Information Network reported receiving at least three videos showing the men being subjected to this alleged "punishment" after being accused of robbing a church and several homes in the area.

The incident occurred in the Las Amazonas neighborhood, El Hueco sector, generating alarm among residents and strong condemnation of the violence used.

According to preliminary information, the men were recorded while being shot, in a situation that suggests illegal vigilante justice practices outside the jurisdiction of the authorities.

So far, there has been no official report on whether security agencies have launched investigations to determine responsibility and clarify the facts.
