An unprotected grandmother led herself to a tragedy, after mistaking the escalator for an elevator. The 75-year-old woman suffered severe cuts and trauma. Most significantly, a wound on her lower leg became infected. This forced her lower leg to be amputated. She died the next day. Further, the scene took place in the Portland International Airport of Alaska. Her family began suing Alaska Airlines, having claimed that they were responsible for escorting her to the next flight.
