In a video from security cameras, the moment in which an alleged criminal was discharged after an attempted robbery on Pilsen Avenue, in Itagüí, in the Medellín metropolitan area, was captured.

According to the surveillance video record, the events occurred last Sunday, September 11, at exactly 11:43 in the morning in the La Independencia neighborhood of the aforementioned sector.

Everything seems to indicate that the aforementioned criminal intimidated the driver of the public service vehicle, apparently defending himself with the same weapon with which the carrier tried to rob him and that he dropped in the flight.

The images show that the offender was chased by another driver who would have witnessed the attempted robbery and during the chase he caused the freighter to lose control of the motorcycle and fall.

Another citizen who was passing by the site confronted the already unarmed subject; Seconds later, the taxi driver appears who got out of the vehicle with the firearm in the hand of the alleged criminal and shot him at close range.

Later, the taxi driver boards his vehicle again and leaves the scene while the criminal, who has not yet been identified, lay dying on a sidewalk in the sector.

"Immediately our quadrants, the reaction of the institutions, the recording of the monitoring cameras, allowed us to locate a taxi, from where they fired," said Rafael Otalora, Secretary of Security of Itagüí.

After the investigative work, the authorities captured the suspect of being responsible for the death of the alleged freighter, who was made available to the Attorney General's Office.
