A man accused of going on a terrifying rampage in a stolen Alfa Romeo was hauled out of the mangled car and pinned down in a wild citizen’s arrest.

Dramatic new vision captured the moment the 25-year-old driver was confronted by furious onlookers in Kingsgrove, in Sydney’s southwest, at about 12pm on Wednesday.

The clip begins with the car allegedly mounting the kerb, smashing into multiple cars and then repeatedly ramming into a fence.

An onlooker in a blue shirt can be seen hauling the driver from the car before screaming out: “Get on the f***ing ground”

“Are you sick you f***wit? You almost killed us! What’s wrong with you?,” shouts a courier in a red Aramax shirt who arrives at the car moments later.

“Stand there, don’t move.”

The dazed driver struggles to respond and moans as he’s interrogated by the two men.

“Where is your licence? You don’t have nothing? Is this a stolen vehicle?,” the Aramax courier continues.

“Are you on drugs?”

The driver, identified as a 25-year-old man, is now facing a string of serious charges.

NSW Police confirmed that he was charged with firearm and driving offences following a pursuit in Sydney’s southwest.

The incident unfolded around 12pm on May 17 when officers from Campsie Police Area Command were on patrol in the Punchbowl area.

They had earlier allegedly observed the man entering an Alfa Romeo, which was reported stolen from a residence in Pennant Hills the previous month.

Police approached the vehicle, but the driver immediately fled, leading to a pursuit that was ultimately terminated due to safety concerns.

Shortly after, the Alfa Romeo allegedly collided with a Mercedes on Payten Ave in Roselands but did not stop.

The vehicle continued its path, eventually crashing into a fence on Vanessa Street in Kingsgrove.

Members of the public managed to detain the driver after he attempted to flee and alerted the police.

Officers from St George Police Area Command arrived at the scene and arrested the 25-year-old man.

During a search, police allegedly discovered an air pistol and several suspected stolen items in the driver’s possession. These items were seized for further investigation.

The man was then taken to Campsie Police Station, where he was hit with multiple charges, including police pursuit, driving a stolen vehicle, aggravated break and enter, failure to provide details after an accident, possession of an unauthorised firearm, and driving without a license.
