Police have released body camera footage of an arrest in which a man was seen being punched on the ground by multiple officers.

The incident was filmed by a bystander and shared on social media Saturday, when the Ogden Police Department released a statement that they were investigating their "use of force."

Shawn Sims, 30, was shown in the video being held on the ground of Washington Blvd. near the "Ogden" arch while officers were striking him.

Officials said Sims was not complying with officers' commands prior to the arrest.

According to a press statement, Sims had put his hand into his waistband and it appeared as though he was reaching for a gun.
