San Francisco, California — October 3, 2026 — Shakia Vanderbilt, 32, of San Francisco, has been charged in the fatal shooting of 47-year-old Warfield security guard Ulysses Tykee Davis, outside the theater in the 900 block of Market Street. San Francisco police responded at approximately 1 a.m. Saturday, October 3, after a report of a shooting and found Davis suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers provided aid before paramedics transported him to a hospital, where he later died. The shooting followed an 18-and-over event at the Warfield connected to the reality series Baddies USA Chapter 3. Police Chief Derrick Lew said a disturbance inside the venue continued outside and led to a dispute. Investigators are examining surveillance video and have not determined whether Davis was the intended target. Davis’ brother-in-law told local media that Davis had been escorting a disruptive woman from the venue when the shooting occurred. Davis’ wife and two of his six children were reportedly nearby.Vanderbilt was arrested October 6 by members of the San Francisco Police Department’s Crime Gun Information Center after homicide investigators developed probable cause. The District Attorney’s Office charged her with murder, an allegation of personal firearm use, discharging a firearm at an occupied building with an allegation that the discharge caused death, and four counts of possession of a firearm by a felon. She was being held without bail and was scheduled for arraignment October 8 at 1:30 p.m. in San Francisco Superior Court.Publicly documented records show Vanderbilt was arrested in 2014 after police alleged she and another person committed a theft at a Daly City T.J. Maxx and a security guard was stabbed while attempting to stop them. In March 2017, she was arrested with three others after a vehicle pursuit involving suspected commercial burglary suspects. Thousand Oaks police said approximately $15,000 in stolen property was found in the vehicle. A 2020 San Francisco court report also documented Vanderbilt facing robbery and assault-with-a-deadly-weapon allegations from an October incident and noted other county holds.
