A disturbing incident of a tribal youth being assaulted and humiliated by a group of youth in Ongole town, Andhra Pradesh, has recently come to light. Shocking visuals of the incident, which occurred about a month ago, were shared on social media, sparking outrage.

The incident was a result of a rivalry between the accused and the victim, both of whom had criminal backgrounds. Nine youths attacked the victim, Naveen, mercilessly. The distressing video shows Naveen pleading with his attackers to spare him as he bleeds profusely. Shockingly, some of the accused urinated on his face and forced him to drink it.

Following the circulation of the video and demands for action by tribal groups, the Ongole police reportedly arrested a couple of accused, while the main accused, Ramananjeyulu alias Anji, remains at large. The police had earlier registered a case under the Scheduled Caste Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act based on the victim's complaint, but no arrests were initially made until the video surfaced, leading to swift action.
