The bullfighter Álvaro Alarcón will undergo surgery this Monday morning at the Fundación Jiménez Díaz after having suffered a pneumothorax (perforation of the pleura) and the fracture of three ribs as a result of the tremendous blow he received when going in to kill the second steer yesterday in the season opener of Las Ventas.

The sword was first referred to the Fraternity Clinic for a radiological study, where the aforementioned injuries were confirmed, being later transferred for a new study to the aforementioned Clinic, where he will be operated on in the early hours of this Monday morning. After the intervention, an official medical report and a full assessment of the extent of the injuries will be issued.
