Kaotic's very own Harrysdingle asked about gangs. Cop haters and trolls, wipe that Pizza Roll grease off your fingers and get ready to unleash your wrath. It's gangster time!

To begin with, I have been away from daily active gang contact since 2004. Gangsters and gang life are fluid situations. Gangsters get shot and killed, OD or go to prison. If that happens to a "shot caller" of a gang, it takes a while for the gang to adjust. If a task force or the Feds go after a gang, using RICO or other laws, entire gangs can be destroyed. The last 7 years I worked as a contractor for the USMS I dealt with a lot of gangsters that were in Federal custody. Gang members in Federal custody rarely caused problems for our crew.

When I was a Mortician, I dealt with gang members and gang aftermath for the entire 22 years. Gangs are everywhere in California. I ran into gang members in the rural boondocks' and in gang central, Los Angeles County. I met the gangsters either on their back arriving from the coroner's office or dealt with the live ones at gang funerals.

Dead gang members were never a problem, the live ones were often a pain in the ass. They would show up wasted on PCP, other drugs or drunk. I have been threatened numerous times because their hommie didn't look right (with half his head gone) or because we were trying to close the mortuary on time. I can't count the number of times I have had to call the cops to clear out a funeral home after closing time.

I tried to stay on good terms with gang members, you never knew when one was going to pull out a knife or a gun and do some social surgery. I had a gang member motion me aside and quietly warn me to move all the cars of people working with me on a Rosary for a rival gang member. We took his advise and at the end of the Rosary, every car in the parking lot was spray painted by members of the rival gang. When problems arose with hommies getting out of line or doing something extra stupid at the Funeral Home, I would find the leader of the gang. I would explain that _______ was being disrespectful to the deceased's family and it was making his crew look bad. That was usually enough to get the situation resolved. I had a duster (PCP user) go off during a gangster viewing one night. I gave the nod to their shot caller and he gave the nod to a few of his boys. I watched them drag the duster out into the parking lot and beat the shit out of him, before whisking him away for the evening.

We had a 14 year old member of the Pee Wee P-13's found dead with his face burred in a plastic bag filled with silver spray paint. The Catholic Church begged us to give him a free funeral because the family was dead ass broke. We provided a free funeral. The knuckleheads destroyed the mortuary! They flooded the bathrooms, carved their initials in every wooden surface and spray painted the exterior of the building. The building was completely trashed and the funeral was a shit show "muy grande."

We gave the family the $300 bill for the plumber that spent the day there. I got a call from the Catholic Priest, he was all pissed about the bill. I invited him over to see the appreciation the family had shown us for providing our services for free. On seeing the damage to the furniture, carpeting and outside of the building, Padre did a backflip. He offered to pay for the repairs, we declined.

Our funeral Home served both sides in a gang war that had been going on for ever. One gang would do a drive by and we would reap the carnage. The revenge shooting would get us more business. It went back and fourth without a break for the 5 years I worked in that area. Then there was the collateral damage. Lil sis would be riding her bike around the projects and take a stray round meant for a brother, father or uncle. Girlfriends, mothers or other female relatives would get beaten and /or raped to get back at rivals. Like I said, it went on and on.

The second half of the story will be from a cop/coroner's investigator's perspective. Don't worry cop haters, the best is yet to come.
