This horse taming technique is utilized by a particular aboriginal American tribe. Instead of beating the animal, the trainer or "Tonto" gains trust by introducing natural movements familiar to the "Skowt" or horse, helping it relax.

This technique also helps injured horses that fear being approached. It also enables the rider to steer the animal without stirrups. It looks weird and I'm sure it turns on the 'horse fucker' guy but it is a very gentle way to deal with a beautiful but much neglected and maltreated animal.
